Arturo Cavero Velásquez (1940 – 2009), better known as "Zambo Cavero" was a Peruvian singer of Afro-Peruvian music and música criolla. He is considered a symbol of Peruvian identity due to the peculiar tone of his voice and singing style. Many of his admirers across the country agree that Cavero’s energetic performances fill them with emotion and Peruvian pride (Paredes, 2019).
