Lucha Reyes (1936-1973) was an Afro-Peruvian and música criolla singer and actress, known as “The Golden Black Woman of Perú” and “The Queen of Popularity”. Reyes became one of the most famous Afro-Peruvian figures in the 1960s, as well as a symbol of Peruvian nationalism (Lucha Reyes, 2021).
